Everyone knows that the school systems in the United States are quite good and it shows in our ability to compete in the world and in world markets. But can we do better? Surely we can move our children ahead faster and give them a boost in their education. There are many ways to achieve this so in a brain storming session in an online think tank this issue was addressed and one think tanker stated;
"The 'take your child to work' days are a great idea - kids have no idea what we do at work, no idea what working life is like!” and "I'm not advocating for more government programs, but a philosophical and economic shift through the private sector and faith-based programs.”
I agree that mentoring programs are good and should be done in cooperation with the private sector. Many faith-based groups already have the infrastructure to take on the challenge of doing more and doing it efficiently with only a small stipend of the costs that government would deploy to attempt to do the same. I understand the public's comments on "separation of Church and State” and applaud those comments as a non-religious type, b

The more positive activities that we can involve our children in the better and the more mentoring we can do the better head start we give them in life. Successful education is achieved when you have children with well-rounded knowledge and experiences to draw upon so they make better decisions. I hope you will consider all this in 2006.
