Robben's acting to get Reina sent off left a bitter taste and, will do nothing to improve the growing rivalry between the two clubs. It was a disappointing reaction from Robben, though some would say not a surprising one.
Liverpool's decision not to appeal against Reina's sending off meant a return to the first team for Dudek. Unfortunately it was another game to forget for Liverpool. Dudek's first start since Istanbul saw him give away a penalty, although the decision has sparked more controversy. Dudek was furious after Bent immediately admitted to diving, only to keep quiet once the penalty was awarded. Charlton's second goal makes the penalty less significant, and the poor performance of the Liverpool players should not be hidden behind that decision.
