Many are told that humans are divine and made in the image of God? Sounds fairly cool does it not? A little self-serving as well and indeed is just the sort of thing a human wants to hear to prove to himself he is some how better than the rest of the animal kingdom.
A think tanker in an online think tank stated that when they asked groups about the question of humans being animals, the group did everything in their power and came up with all sorts of arguments to the contrary. This of course was due to belief systems and religious connotations. One think tanker in observation of this phenomena stated:
"Your findings are typical, as humans generally consider in advance a notion and work to prove them selves right and even cheat the data when they find they are losing the battle of attaining that goal. This typically is due to ego, need for respect from fellow man and the other associated human drives discussed by Maslow.”
This truth of observation of human behavior and emotion is problematic in one regard as it often leads science down dead end branches when better routes should or could have been taken in seeking the answers to a question, yet in another regard those emotions are also driving forces to keep those with hunches on track and stead fastness in their resolve to prove something.
Thus when those hunches are correct, then indeed those emotions sure have come in handy for the unreasonable man who makes a break thru which changes the world and alters human history and moves us one step closer to the answers we seek.
Religious doctrine is another troubling point and one which plagues mankind even i
"I am not so surprised with your results of your hypothetical so far, although it would be interesting the level of open-mindedness in human cultures and I suppose that would change from civilization to civilization based on the percentages of fundamental religious followers?”
What say you dear reader of this article and subject matter? Do you have thoughts of this nature? Have you considered that you are in the same classification of species as your dog or cat? Does that bother you? Does it shake your belief system to think on such things? Consider this in 2006 and meanwhile I bring up another subject, which is not so biting into your little reality my little human reader.
