God Is Not Some Mere Fancy Of Imagination Or Self imposed Hallucination!

Is God a figment of our imaginations? Who created who; did God create man or did man create god to help him feel safe and content? Yet in such an argument you will find all sorts of rational as to why God does or doesn't exist. Recently in a think tank a member was discussing technology, life extension, robotic prosthetics and computer chips in the brains of every human to extend memory and help in cognition and was confronted by a well-intentioned man of faith who said; "God is not some mere fancy of imagination or self-imposed hallucination!”

After stating this fact an atheist and technology guru or self-proclaimed wizard of technology of the future stated:

"I totally agree God is not a self-imposed hallucination, fore the folklore is rather a social engineering and learned trait. It is not self-imposed it is socially imposed and for those who need the assistance of the group they find it easier to go along with it rather to do the old Thomas Paine thing. Of course one cannot condemn a schizophrenic, after all 1 in 100 people have this condition. Indeed, we cannot condemn either the believer of an invisible friend, fore we would condemn over 35% of the children under age 6. Additionally we cannot condemn a child under the a

ge of five who still believes in Santa Clause. And in history we need not condemn those who could not read "The Book Who No One Read” fore it was banned and we all know the Earth use to be flat right? Great for playing "Risk” with all kings horses and all the Kings Men but today we exist in a more knowledgeable world, which includes a far more 4D Net Centric Battlespace.”

It is interesting indeed that two think tankers could have such different belief systems and use their belief systems to guide them in completely different directions with regards to the adoption of technology. What are your thoughts on this matter? It would be interesting to hear from you. Think on this in 2006.
