When it comes to having an affair, most people who have done it have been caught doing it and the few percentage of people who think, they can get away with it have died prematurely because of the guilt trip that they have to endure.

One of the most dangerous kinds of affair is the one that is committed with a person who is married. When I was in college, I loved to go hiking and climb high cliffs. In most cases, in every cliff I climbed, there would be a fence with a warning on it that said, "Don't Lean over the Edge of the Cliff.”

When a man or even a woman is tempted to have an affair with someone who is married, that person starts to lean over the edge of the cliff. As soon as he/she does it, he/she actually jumps off the cliff knowing that he/she may lose his/her life. There is nothing more dangerous than an angry and jealous wife/husband who finds out that their spouse is having an affair with you.

The book of Proverbs states it very clearly that when a young man is having an affair with a married woman, that young man is like an ox being led into a slaughter house. Once the husband of the married lady finds out about it, he may think of thousand ways of destroying or even killing the young man. It works both ways, if a wife finds out that her husband cheated on her, once she finds out who the lady who he is having affair with, she will think of different ways of eliminating the person.

When a person thinks that they can get away with having an affair, he or she is lack of wisdom and understanding. When someone is willing to lose a great 5 years of marriage with a great person over one or three hours of sexual pleasure that person is a fool.

It's like building a nice and big house for 5 years an

d in one day that person destroys the whole entire house with a bomb. The worst case is when that person has children, he/she will lose the respect of their children, and he/she has become a very bad example in their life! You want to be a hero to your children and not a bad example!

Some of you may have fallen into this destructive behavior pattern, well my friend there is always hope for those who repent and confess their sins. In the Holy Bible, it says that those who confess and brought their sin to the Lord and promise to Him that they won't do it again, the Lord will forgive them. Your spouse may not want to forgive you, because you have hurt them very bad, but you can always start a new life with the Lord your God. There is always hope for those people who are willing to change their wicked ways to the ways of the righteous.

I want you to think really hard if you are tempted to have an affair with someone, ask yourself this "Is it really worth it?” "Am willing to go through the pain, sorrow and destruction that will follow after the affair?” If you believe in God, I want you to really kneel on your knees and pray hard about it and ask God for strength to overcome it. If you are too close to the person whom you are tempted to have an affair with, run away from him/her in terror, keep your distance away, and run for your life.
