Government's number one job is to protect our people so monies, which are derived from the efficiencies of a civilization thru free enterprise and taxation of such flows will enable a nation to remain strong and protected, which is its job.

That is a good thing not a bad one. Yet so often we find that citizens decry the necessary expenditures and plans needed to fulfill this basic mission. So many decry wars, ID cars, border walls and the like, yet we know that to protect our society, we need some of these levers. Without them the normal innate tendencies of the species and Machiavellian desires of some men will work to control or destroy our nation.

Regarding the unfortunate potential eventuality of wars and the human race. Did you know that Humans kill only one-percent of populations in wars and our next nearest land species "Chimpanzees” of similar intelligence kills 2.5% in troop wars?

One percent is small and perhaps we should not give so much importance to anti-war movements. I agree any amount is unfortunate and would substitute a war on; Cancer, Mediocrity, Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Gravity, Aging. But what is fascinating is that all these things are being solved through military technologies.<

In fact if you look at the advances in medicine, aviation, automobiles, weather and so many other things which have plagued the human race; you need to look no further than wars, as a reason why mankind got off his butt to save his butt and create these advances.

Thus although anti-war folks are right; killing one's own species is silly, perhaps over all it may not have been as silly, as it has gotten human civilizations where they are today; at the top of our food chain. Governments number one job is to protect her people and in doing so, we get the spoils of our wars; innovation which provides for the forward progression of our species. Think on this in 2006.
