There has been a little bit in the news lately about the FEMA trailers which are in Hope, Arkansas. These trailers were originally supposed to go to New Orleans, but New Orleans cannot take them, as they are in the middle of cleanup. Even if the trailers could be delivered and set up in many areas there is no fresh water supply or even power. So folks really could not move into them even if they were set up.
It appears that this issue is now a political hot potato, as the Democrats are using this is an example of the Bush administration's FEMA ineptness. When in reality there is not a whole lot anyone can do. Additionally the 2006 Atlantic tropical hurricane season will be starting in the few months and no doubt those trailers will probably be needed somewhere along the Gulf Coast. It is sad to predict such hurricane devastation months before the potential eventuality, yet meteorologists, weather researchers and those that study hurricane trends know that this 2006 hurricane season will indeed be serious.
Many are saying that FEMA has wasted money with all these trailers sitt
