Many people believe that the current NASA timeline to put a human colony on Mars is acceptable. I am not one of them. Recently in an online think tank the time frame was mentioned and it was estimated that it could not be much sooner than 2050. Indeed this appears to be the case. However one online think tanker stated:
"I tend to agree with you on your timeline to put a colony and observation center on Mars, but it pisses me off to no end that we are so slow in getting this done. We can easily do it now and we should within the next few years or so. We have the technology to do it now.”
Wow, he says now as in perhaps a few years, that indeed is quite a bold statement? Are we really ready? Sure we are and we do have the technology now? Question is do we wish to send a humungous rocket or set of rockets like this into space? We could easily send a group, a small group on a one-way mission right? Sure we could and since they do not need to come back they could carry all those things they need right? Perhaps, well then how about it? Lets send one of our space shuttles and inside a space habitat, which can expan
Set up shop and wait until sometime in the future they come and get us, meanwhile we send back all the data, do experiments and become the first people on the Red Planet. Very cool, so what exactly are we waiting for anyway? Let's just do it. Go buy some Nikes and let's getr' done. Consider this before the end of 2006.
