Any single person over the age of 25 has likely been nagged about when they are going to settle down or when they are going to get married. It can be frustrating to answer the same question at each family get-together throughout the year. Typically it is Grandma wanting to know when the grandchildren are coming along as well!

If you are single and face this question often, you probably get mad each time the issue comes up. The fact is that people are waiting longer and longer to get married. Even if you do have a special someone in your life, you will be likely to date longer before marrying than your parents did. There is nothing wrong with being a single and being focused on finding out who you are before making a major commitment to someone else.

So, when your family starts harping

on you about why you haven't gotten married, you need to have an answer prepared. Be strong and firm with your answer. Keep it short and simple. Don't go into too much detail or get flustered. Simply tell them that you are not ready to get married and when you are, they will be invited to the wedding.

This should get them to stop bugging you at least for six months, at which time you may need to repeat this to them again.
