Well the Fat Cat Car Wash Owners and the Car Wash Associations are at it again. You have seen the 60-minutes specials on some of their other tactics. What are they up to now? Well it appears they are attempting to shut down Car Wash Fundraisers in a town near you, because when you kid's groups do these fundraisers they take volume away from the car washes? We need to tell the car wash associations to back off or else!
Or else what? Or else suffer the backlash of their communities, loss in customer base and Respect from the very town who has help built their car wash businesses. I am upset and I hold this issue of personal importance. A person has to stand for something; this is one of those things. As class President of my high school and having been on several sporting teams, we needed to raise money for uniforms, travel, etc. Selling candy was not always the answer, there were other groups selling stuff.
These kid's sports teams, youth groups and clubs need the money. I do not see what the big deal is, the kids do the best they can with what they have to work with and the cars come out acceptable at best, it does not hurt car wash business. Having been in the car wash business; Carwashguys.com it never hurt us and it shouldn't be that big of deal for the other car wash owners either.
Car Wash fundraisers make car washing fun like that movie "AT THE CAR WASH.
I watched as car wash owners banded together, these were local and fierce competitors, all banding together to strategize how to hurt car wash fundraising efforts to add to their business volume. It made me sick. The car wash associations need to focus on their quality and business models not on attacking community groups. The attempt of banning American apple pie, baseball or car wash fundraisers is unforgivable and un-sportsmanlike. Think on this in 2006.
