We need a system that allows people to know where landmines are and where roadside bombs, which are unexploded are. You see such un-exploded ordinance after a war can often kill or maim almost as many as they did during a way. War is generally a contest of political will of one enemy against another, yet in the end and after the smoke has cleared all this old debris of war often remains and it is a hazard to those areas which are on the mend and rebuilding after such devastating human conflict.
After the United States Military leaves an area of conflict we may not know where all the roadside bombs are or where all the un-exploded ordinance or landmines are either. Yet with constant surveillance from Satellite assets and information from local forces we should be able to set up alert systems with GIS and GPS to assist locals in setting up alert signs or warning systems to prevent further deaths.
