PHP is an open source scripting language that is especially suited for web development and can be embedded into HTML. This technology has become largely popular and users have become greatly benefited from it.

The full form of PHP stands for Personal home page or hypertext preprocessor is a programming language especially designed to produce dynamic web pages that interacts with databases. PHP is generally an HTML-embedded scripting language which is designed to develop home pages for the websites.

The concept of PHP was developed by Rasmus Lerdorf in the year 1994. Initially, the technology was used as personal home page meant for developing web applications with a purpose of increasing the efficiency and suitability of the web pages. Web pages in PHP are treated same as the regular HTML pages, the edits and updates can be done in the same way as in simply created HTML pages.

Since, the concept of php development was to speed up the working of the web pages. The working of this technology is based on a simple formula. When a visitor opens a page, the PHP commands are processed by the server and then the results are usually send to the visitor's browser. It is an open Source and cross-platform technique which runs on Windows NT and other UNIX versions.

Due to its easy features and user friendly results, PHP has become a popular technology. The use of PHP has been seen in different arenas widely. PHP is frequently used to create dynamic pages as it is easy, fast, secure, open source and stable. For programmers who have a good knowledge of languages such as C, JavaScript and html, PHP seems to be very convenient to learn and grasp.

The future of PHP is really bright, with new modules adding up by each passing day.
