Exercising and improving our food intake is not really a difficult thing in itself, done moderately and sensibly. Yet somehow we tend to make a Mole-Hill into a MOUNTAIN over this issue and worry ourselves sick over it. Not only that, we seem to beat ourselves up about it adding insult to injury. It's a rather vicious circle that can be painfully felt during that Ho-Ho-Ho time of year. Yes, that yearly Thanksgiving to New Year Time-of-Temptation that approaches like an intimidatingly Dark Cloud that rolls in whether we like it or not ready to crush all of our commone-sense and will-power, let alone our self-confidence and pride. For some it's a very real problem. For others it's the same but they can just brush-it-off and move on (those lucky s%#*&%#s!). Nonetheless it's a concern for many that really want to do something about it, yet feel powerless in the light of circumstances, in other words that Festive-(FEASTive) time-of-year turns into a remarkable stumbling-block, for even the best amongst us. Does it affect me, yes. Do I let it over-power me, no. Do I keep it in perspective, yes, I try to. We all know we should exercise, but we don't seem to do it. We all know that we should improve what we put in our mouths, if what we're eating now is not what we KNOW we should be eating. Now they say that 20-30lbs. over-weight is called: OBESE. I hate to think that I'm Obese! However, I am. I need to lose weight and eat better. It's a FACT. What am I doing about it? Not Much. Yes, it does bother me. Sooo, this is what I do. First I don't know what my colesterol level is and should get it checked just to find out (good advice!). Second, this is not as bad as it sounds. I don't smoke, drink or chase women. I just live a rather simple life trying to get on with what I'm doing. I like to walk so I'm having to force myself away from the PC to get some air and my cardio going. It seems to be the little things that help right now. At least I'm doing SOMETHING to take me in the 'Right Direction'. Those Little-'Positive'-Strokes tend to divert those Stormy-Killer-Clouds that seem to be an over-whelming Fact-of-Nature that are coming to 'Get Us' against our will! It's the 'Little-Things' that can help move us forward step-by-step in the direction of our true desires, and by achieving those affirmative actions we in essence are giving ourselves a pat on the proverbial back so-to-speak. It makes us feel better about ourselves! Little things like S-T-R-E-T-C-H-I-N-G, getting up from the desk to do something else
