How Colon Irrigation Treatments Are Done

Treatments are usually performed in a special clinic. At the time of treatment, the therapist will insert a small tube into your rectum. This tube is called a speculum; it's about 51/2 inches long. The colon starts to have the muscles contract from the water. This forces the fecal matter out through an evacuation tube that leads back to the colon irrigation machine.
