As a fit and healthy 30 something year old, I actively went about enjoying my life and I still do that in my 40s too. I've been lucky enough to travel in over 60 countries and live and work in cities throughout Europe, Australia, Asia, USA and the Middle East. Being a very fun and social person who enjoys life to the full, I've also had the opportunity of meeting a lot of lovely women along the way.
Over the years I've met many women from all over the world and from many walks of life. Some were academically brilliant, some had high emotional intelligence, others were superb at sport and some were accomplished in their careers. Some were good looking and chic and although they were all unique, they all had two eyes, a nose, a mouth and the important thing for this book …they all had breasts.
Although some of these women were incredibly attractive, in many cases, their breasts were lagging way behind the rest of their appearance. I began to notice this about other women too. As I went about my life in Europe and Australia I started to notice something particular about woman. Something about women from all walks of life, from one side of the world to the other.
Something seemed amiss. Here were these women, all shapes, sizes and ages and yet so many of them looked as if they had simply borrowed a bra for a day from a friend, mother or sister. Their breasts looked squashed like sardines in a tin or they bulged over the top of the bra. Some were lop-sided, others were sagging terribly. I noticed that many women's breasts were anything but looking as they should. However in most of these cases, the women wore perfect make-up, expensive clothes and had wonderful looking hair. But no matter what the shape or size, I was amazed at how many women weren't looking too good when it came to their breasts.
It wasn't until I was living in Copenhagen where you'll find some of the most attractive and genetically blessed women in the world that it finally clicked!
I was walking passed Tivoli in Copenhagen city centre one sunny summer's day when I said to my then girlfriend, "Why is it that so many women look as if they've borrowed someone's
And so she told me how most women have never been properly measured and fitted for a bra. At first I was shocked - I couldn't believe that. I mean how could the female sex which pays so much attention to their make-up, figure, clothes and hair, let themselves down by wearing their most prominent female features in a bra that doesn't even fit them properly? What's more, many of these women are likely to be putting up with a less than comfortable feeling each and every day as they go about their business - wearing the wrong bra.
Here was a man coming to terms with a very sad reality, a man who was still rather shocked about what he'd just learned. My girlfriend went on to tell me that she hadn't been measured for a bra until she was 34 and that she was surprised to learn that she had been wearing the wrong size bra for years.
This news about my girlfriend surprised me as she was a very chic, well proportioned stylish woman with many of those naturally wonderful Scandinavian genes I mentioned earlier. She was however now measured and properly fitted and she stays on top of this issue, but it took her 21 years of breast-life before she got to that stage.
Should this be happening to women in this day and age? I certainly don't think it should and I would be surprised if many women who cared about how they look and feel would disagree with that.
Women love to look and feel great. It's almost natural. So why on earth do so many spend so much time, money and effort on so many parts of their appearance except their breasts? And even if time, money and effort is being spent on making their breasts look good, it's often done with a considerable lack of knowledge.
