As the owner of the popular UK casino review website, InternetCasinos.co.uk and an avid player myself, I have learned a few valuable lessons while playing over the years. Whether you prefer to play at the 'bricks and mortar' type or the many online casinos around today. Here are my golden rules of gambling, most of which can be considered common sense, but if followed will help you go a long way to leaving (or logging off) with a smile on your face.
Rule one: Go into a casino with a set amount that you are willing and can afford to spend - imagine you're on a night out; work out what you'd spend on booze, nightclub entrance fees (and kebabs of course) and stick to that amount.
Rule two: Don't take your cash card out with you - or any means of drawing cash out for that matter. Don't worry about money for the taxi if you lose it all; most taxi drivers, especially the ones booked through casinos, will take you home and will be more than happy to wait for the cash when you get home.
Rule three: Stick to an upper amount. I always imagine what I'd like to buy should I win. The last time I went, I decided I'd quite like to buy a new digital SLR camera and I quite fancied which which retailed at £550, so that was my upper limit. As soon as I reached that amount, I quit. You should too. Just quit.
Rule four: Enjoy yourself. When you're "buzzing” (as a good friend of mine enthusiastically puts it), you will win. It's a fact. I don't know why, but it just is. As soon as it becomes a chore, or you are only playing to make money you have lost, you will lose more. When you're winning, having a good time with your mates, or your girlfriend, you will win more and more.
Last but not least, good luck!
