There are times when you can stumble upon a maniac while playing poker, and this occurs more frequently when playing online. Maniacs are those persons that play with no logic or sense whatsoever. Maniac usually play all the hands they get, they bet and raise with a pair and other un -thought actions as well. They can be either tilt, drunk, distracted or upset or they can play like that because they enjoy being on the edge and having games with lots of action in them. Either way you have to use them so you can win as much as you can because of them.

Maybe it seems easy for you to play against such a player because he will ruin his game by himself and most probably lose no matter what you do, but they are in fact a serious threat that has to be taken into consideration. When encountering a maniac be aware because their aggressive style tends to make all the players go on tilt and the one that doesn't fall into that trap is going to take all the profits with him in the end. So against them you have to remain calm, don't let yourself get carried away and try to read that player and apply as many strategies as you can think of.

Best place on a table with a maniac is to his left. Try whenever possible to take that position on a table with him. Being behind him can give you the opportunity to re-rise whenever you want to play a hand. This way you can get him to isolation and get the pot odds up to your favor. And most likely you will get better hands than he does on average so this is not something to worry about. The only problem when you are trying to do this is the other players. They might interfere an

d they might try to do the same thing you are trying to achieve, but if they just simply let you go on and have your purpose then you hold all the power at the poker table.

Your strategy should rely basically upon sitting left and raisin with A and another card, any pair and with a big connector hand. This hand will have to be played even if unimproved all the way to the river and when you find yourself on the flop with one of them you cannot fold. Play like this when your opponents don't raise or call your bets. If they do however, you will have to watch the game more carefully. If a good player raises and them the manic calls and raises too, then be selective of your hands. You would now be playing not only against the maniac but also against the solid player too, because he definitely has something if he raised. The same way, be selective when sitted right to a maniac. Then you can't tell his moves and you can end up taken by surprise with some actions and his actions can get you insolated and can trick you into losing.
