Many people I encounter find it difficult to believe that they can become wealth-builders with some very simple techniques. A common belief is that only the rich can take steps to increase their wealth and that just isn't the case.
Consider asparagus!
Last evening my wife and I had some friends over for dinner. We prepared and served a four-course dinner that out-of-pocket probably cost a total of $30. At the meat department of the grocery store I was fortunate to find the meat we wanted to serve was on sale at about two-thirds off the regular price so instead of paying $31.00, I paid $11.50.
Asparagus which we love grilled was purchased. (Insert your own favorite here if you are gagging right now!) There was a fair amount of it and it wasn't all eaten at dinner.
This morning for breakfast I prepared omeletes with the leftover asparagus and cheese slices that weren't consumed during the appetizer course.
Yes, I used leftovers - a hard pill to swallow for many!
But, let's see how you can make money with this strategy: ∑ By not going out to eat (we live in Las Vegas) we figured we saved a minimum of $75.00 ∑ I saved almost $20.00 just at the meat counter ∑ By being willing to eat leftover asparagus and cheese slices we had great Saturday morning omelets at home and saved probably another $15.00 minimum by not going out to eat. Bottom-line: We have nearly $110 extra in our pocket using the above techniques. That $110 can now be invested in something that will continue to grow and provide for future needs or be available for investment opportunities.
To make money and build wealth you must be thinking about the places you can "find” money and for so many people that's not as difficult as they may think.
Too many people buy into what they hear on the news, "the average American just isn't able to save and invest!” Baloney!
Shop wisely. Be willing to use leftover asparagus. Be willing to stay home and have a meal with friends.
It all adds up! And be sure to put that saved money to work for you!
