Can The Human Mind Comprehend Infinity?

The Cosmos are said to infinite and many believe that it is impossible for the human mind to comprehend infinity? Many say that their God is infinite and that God has made the Universe this way and that God has always been and always will be. They say that there is no way for the human mind to comprehend all this.

Others find this line of reasoning odd, as it is used as an excuse by religious followers when asked to explain things. Recently in a think tank a spiritual type, non organized religion belief system gentleman stated; "These human beings with tiny human minds have been attempting to figure out the origin of the cosmos and the universe using their tiny human minds.”

Well indeed, one generally would not debate the issues with humans and their cranial capacity and I myself have seen enough in my life to tend to agree with this summation. However it appears to me that simplicity breeds complexity and the original events taking place were most likely completely simple in nature and appear to us as complex, due to the enormity of what is able to be observed and thus having the appearance of being so far reaching. Therefore what one's God did to create the Universe if he, she, it or they did so then it should be simple to understand if in fact it were explained.

It also appears that those who us

e this line of reasoning to explain why they cannot explain their God when asked to, are actually saying to us. That their minds are tiny and they do not understand and since they assume they are of such massive brilliance having bought into all this religious hokum, that if they do not understand it you cannot possibly understand. My point here is this. Explain it to me, let me be the judge of whether or not I can comprehend it. Because infinity is not difficult to understand at all and if someone believes they cannot understand it because they were told they cannot and therefore believe they will never comprehend it, they are right? Who could argue with such an individual? So, if you have a tiny mind then that is your problem, not the rest of us. Think on this in 2006.
